Kyoto life Blogs

GTK would like to introduce the real Kyoto life by GTK bloggers. Some of them migrated from their countries
to Kyoto, and want to share how to enjoy the Kyoto life. These blogs are quite useful for visiting Kyoto, and also
for people who hope to live in Japan.

The New Year’s delicacy

I enjoyed strolling Nishiki Food Market yesterday.

Of course it was for preparation of the traditional Japanese meal in New Year days. Japanese people usually have a special and looks gorgeous bento called osechi in New Year’s day. Each food in osechi has each lucky meaning such as for long lives, good fortune etc.

In last two days of this year (today and tomorrow), you can see a Japanese energy for their foodie culture in the market. Nishiki Food Market is the must-see and must-go place during your trip in Kyoto.

It is located just 5 minutes walk from subway Shijo Station.
