This exhibition commemorates the 1300th anniversary of the compilation of Kojiki (Record of Ancient Matters). Next year, 2013, the grand installation ceremony of Izumo Taisha Shrine in Shimane Prefecture will be held.
This time treasures from the ancient Izumo shrines and closely affiliated temples as well as artifacts excavated from historic sites in Izumo are displayed at Kyoto National Museum.
