Ohitaki-sai Event


This is a thanksgiving event for the rice harvest at this head shrine of Inari shrines throughout Japan. Three large bonfires are lit and about 100,000 goma prayers sticks are burned. You can start hiking of the Kyoto circuit trail from this shrine.

Ohitaki Festival at other shrines :
Kibune jinja Shrine, November 7th 11:00~, take Eiden line at Demachi-yanagi Station and get off at Kibune.
Ebisu jinja Shrine, November 16th 14:00~, 3 minutes south walk from Gion-shijo Station of Keihan line.
Koryu-ji Temple, November 22nd 9:00~, Uzumasa-koryuji-mae Bus stop of Kyoto City Bus no. 71, 72 or 73.
Kenkun jinja Shrine, November 23rd 11:00~, Kenkun-jinja-mae Bus stop of Kyoto City Bus no. 206.
