Renoir’s light
This exhibition will feature about 60 portraits depicting women and children by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, a famous French painter in the 19th century.
He drew various types and ages of women such as the wives and children of his friends, actress and unfamiliar women in the town. He expressed a happiness and beauty of life in his works.
Visitors will find them through women’s beautiful skin and bright cheek and lip in his paintings.
Most notably, “After the Luncheon”, one of his representative paintings will be displayed for the first time in Japan.
