Arts & Performances

Kyoto is a birth place of traditional arts, crafts and performances of Japan,
and has been maintaining its tradition with the coming of the new age.
Here GTK'd like to introduce the monthly art highlights, museums, creators etc.

Rokkaku-do Night time Illumination

Rokkaku-do, well-known as a birth place of Ikebana Japanese flower arrangement, will be illuminated with beautiful Ikebana decoration in cherry blossom season. Ikenobo (池坊), the main school of Ikebana, started the school here about 1400 years ago. This time, gorgeous works by the master of this school, Ikenobo Yuki will be displayed at the gate, in the main hall and pond of this temple ground.
This would be a good opportunity to see Japanese traditional culture and cherry blossoms at night time in a famous temple in Kyoto.
