July 1st ~ September 15th

“Ukai” Cormorant Fishing


This is a traditional way of fishing dating from the 8th century. You can watch from the banks of the Oi River close to Arashiyama Station. And also, the ukai sightseeing boats are available.

  • 19:00-21:00
  • Oi River at the Arashiyama area
  • ¥1700, ¥1500 if you wear yukata.
  • Arashiyama area, take the Randen line or JR line and get off at Arashiyama Station.
