Shichiruido Tenkei Exhibition
Shichiruido Tenkei, born in 1961 in Hiroshima, is a Doshaku-ga painter who was appreciated as the second Sesshu in China. Doshaku-ga is a painting with the motif of Daruma, Seven Gods or Tenjin God as the symbols of Buddhism, Taoism and Shintoism. Some of the Gods he painted look like a manga and make us smile. This painter introduced a new style and atmosphere to the traditional way of Doshaku-ga painting. You can relax and enjoy seeing them at Jotenkaku Museum, located in the Shokoku-ji Temple Ground. This is a place where Sesshu trained at a young age.
